At approximately 0710 BST on August 1, 2008, our beautiful Bedlington terrier, Foggy, aged just 7, was shot in our enclosed front garden - sending tremors throughout the peaceful rural community. The Bedlington terrier is a distinctive breed, known for its gentle, loving nature, originating from Northumberland. Foggy was brought to us through the Sevray line.
He leaves behind Kookie, another Bedlington (aged an impressive 15), his two owners, Sue & Simon, and their two sons, Andrew & Paul. As everyone will attest, he was an extremely affectionate and playful character who brought immense joy to those around him. We were so very lucky to have him in our lives, if only for a few years.
We know that he was shot with a precision air rifle. The sharpened pellet punctured his heart. He died within 20 minutes on the way to the local veterinary surgery. Worst of all, he suffered greatly and died in Sue’s arms. A police and RSPCA investigation are underway.
