Petition to Find Justice

In August 2008, we created an online petition to express the strength of public feeling about Foggy’s death, not only in the immediate region but also across the UK and indeed abroad. The petition attracted support from animal lovers around the world - from the shores of Hawaii to the mountains of Iceland.

The principal goal of the petition was to raise awareness of the growing problem of airgun crimes in the UK. These lethal weapons are claiming an unacceptable number of lives each year - children, beloved pets and wild animals - and clearly need to be regulated or licensed in some form.

It is an absolute travesty that lives can be lost in this way.

We have collected over 2000 signatures online, plus many many more in print. For legal reasons, however, the petition is now closed. We are pleased to report that the case is proceeding to court. We will forward your comments to the UK authorities in due course.

Thank you all again for your kind words and support. The response to this website has been astonishing and heartening. Please check back in the near future for further information about the resolution of this tragic case.

Depending on the financial compensation awarded by the courts, we plan to make donations to the worthy efforts of Miramar Veterinary Surgery, the RSPCA and the Dogs Trust.
